This week in crazy: Michigan Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell

Salon.com’s “This Week in Crazy” segment follows the story of Michigan’s Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell who has dedicated his off-work hours to condemning the election of an openly-gay student body president at his alma mater the University of Michigan. The public servant has created a blog attacking the college student (in one instance putting a Nazi symbol on a rainbow flag next to the student’s photo), picketed outside of his house, and protested at his public speeches at the university. Shirvell has also called the student a racist, elitist, Nazi-like recruiter for the cult of homosexuality, and “Satan’s representative on the Student Assembly.”
