Council transportation committee to hear hundreds of rail property acquisitions

HONOLULU—The City Council Transportation Committee will meet Friday, August 4 at Honolulu Hale. In addition to various appointments to the Transportation Commission, the Committee will receive an update from the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transporation (HART) on the list of properties to be acquired as part of the Honolulu High Capacity Transit Corridor Project.

The list contains hundreds of properties, spanning an area from the Ewa plain to Downtown Honolulu and comprising millions of square feet, including significant portions of Honolulu International Airport.

Persons wishing to testify on items listed on the Transportation Committee agenda are requested to register by 1:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
