‘Big Wind’ environmental hearings begin next week
The US Department of Energy is holding a series of public hearings on plans by Hawaiian Electric Co. to construct wind turbines on Lana’i and Moloka’i and transmit the energy to O’ahu via an undersea cable.
The meetings begin on O’ahu on September 11, 5pm at McKinley HIgh School, and will be held on each island except Niihau through September 20. Click here for the full list of meetings.
