Big Island electric utility pushes for more geothermal
Hawaii Electric Light Company, the Big Island electricity utility, is petitioning the Public Utilities Commission for 50 additional megawatts of geothermal energy. The request is a revision to an earlier draft proposal to the PUC.
The utility company has issued a Geothermal Request for Proposals to supply the energy, which is available here.
