Diamond Head Theatre offers two special workshops with Broadway performer David Spangenthal

Broadway performer, David Spangenthal dances across the Diamond Head Theatre (DHT) stage in this season’s opening production of Crazy For You.

Spangenthal most recently played the role of “Mr. Purvis” in the world premiere of Radio Girl at the famed Goodspeed Opera House. His Broadway and National tours include: Beauty and the Beast (“Beast/Gaston”), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cats, and Candide.

While in town, David is offering two special workshops at Diamond Head Theatre, 520 Makapuu Ave. Anyone interested in taking their tap or audition skills to the next level are welcome. Limited spaces are available and tuition is reduced for those who register before September 24.

For ages 12 and up

Come learn “Life is Gonna Be Good Again,” a production number choreographed by Chris Gatelli (South Pacific) from the Broadway Bound Radio Girl—written by Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), Susan Birkenhead (Jelly’s Last Jam), and Daniel Goldfarb (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me). The choreography is for medium to advanced tappers, but all are welcome. All dancers should arrive warm and ready to tap.

Ever wonder what it is like to go through a Broadway chorus call? David will teach two dance combinations and hear your best 16 bars. This class will be run as if you were auditioning for a Broadway show. All levels welcome.  Bring a copy of your headshot and resume. Be warm and ready to dance. Women should wear heels. Each individual will receive a personalized critique. Accompanist provided.
