WAIANAE—The Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC), which oversees five facilities in Waianae including the main campus, will receive approximately $7.9 million in federal funding.
According to Pacific Business News, the fund will be used for construction and renovation on any, but not limited to, a desired clinic WCCHC chooses. The federal funding will also help the clinics expand health care access to those living on the west side of Oahu and are of low-income families who are uninsured.
Along with WCCHC, the Hilo Bay Clinic, which oversees six clinics on Hawaii Island, will receive approximately $2.4 million.
The total amount is a grant of $10.3 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
