School spirit needed to take on USC ...
HONOLULU—University of Hawaii at Manoa students will receive free bus transportation on Thursday, September 2, from the Manoa campus to the UH versus USC football game at Aloha Stadium.
Buses will depart from the intersection of East-West Road and Dole Street promptly at 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., and return to campus 30 minutes after conclusion of the game. Seat availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The maximum passenger capacity per bus is 48 or a maximum passenger capacity of 480 for 10 buses.
The bus rides come courtesy of UH Manoa Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw, who this summer pushed for a $50 semesterly fee increase to support the UH athletics program, despite vocal opposition by the Association of Students at UH (ASUH) and the Graduate Student Organization (GSO).
