Waimea Valley Nature Reserve to honor Military Appreciation Month in May

NORTH SHORE, O‘AHU –  The Waimea Valley nature Reserve celebrates Military Appreciation Month in May with special discounts available to Hawaii’s military families at the Ku’ono Waiwai Gift Shop and Na Mea ‘Ono Snack Bar.

Waimea Valley honors the brave men and women of the armed forces daily with a year-round discounted admission rates of $8.00 for Military Adults and $5.00 for Military Dependent Children/Military-Retired Military Seniors. “We will provide a FREE gift to all military personnel (with Military ID) at the Ticket Booth with the purchase of admission,” explains Gail Chew, Executive Director of Waimea Valley.

Waimea Valley is a living pu`uhonua, a place of peace and safety, for Hawai`i and the world and one of O`ahu’s last partially intact ahupua`a. Waimea is significant in the history of Hawai`i and a repository for Hawaiian spirituality and traditions.
