Waikiki Worm project needs saving
Entrepreneur Mindy Jaffe's Waikiki Worm project, which has converted roughly 40 tons of waste from Pearl City High School into vermicompost, will end soon, unless she can find a private backer to continue its funding.
The image shows 21 tons-worth, enough to fill 84 dumpsters, but the project has since doubled its yield of nutrient-rich vermicompost to 40 tons. For more information on the project, visit waikikiworm.com/worm
