Waikiki charity walk to raise money for Hawaii’s worthy causes

WAIKIKI — The Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association (HHLA) 2011 Charity Walk begins at McCoy Pavillion at Ala Moana Beach Park on Saturday, May 21. The event is one of Hawaii’s largest single-day fundraiser, taking place on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and the Big Island.

Last year, more than 9,100 walkers participated to raise over $964,500 for more than 200 local charities.  Since its inception in 1978, the Charity Walk has raised close to $22 million.

All ages are invited to participate in the 9.6 km (6-mile) walk through Waikiki and the post-walk concert event featuring Ike Pono and HAwaiian Slice at the finish line.
