HONOLULU—Some of Hawaii’s most outspoken slam poets sent a message of hope at the Second Annual Honolulu Equality March, which took place at the Hawaii State Capitol on Saturday, October 16. Organized by Pride Alliance Hawaii, a local non-profit organization focused on issues of equality, the Honolulu Equality March celebrated the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and its allies and paid tribute to those who have been harassed, bullied, or discriminated against because of their sexual orientation.

Poets Darron Cambra, Lyz Soto, and David Kealii Mackenzie each spoke out for equality at the march.
