Transient Accommodations Tax info briefing, mortgage closures bill today at the Capitol

The State House Committee on Tourism is holding an informational briefing at 9:30 a.m. in State Capitol room 309 to discuss tourism funding and the transient accommodations tax. Scheduled to present are Carl Bonham, UHERO; Lowell Kalapa, Tax Foundation of Hawaii; Mike McCartney, Hawaii Tourism Authority; and Mufi Hannemann, Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association.

The House Committee on Finance will be hearing House Bill 1411 at 5:00 p.m. in State Capitol room 308. The bill repeals the old non-judicial foreclosure process, clarifies the new non-judicial foreclosure process, strengthens laws regarding mortgage servicers and broadens the duties of the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution.
