September 19: Anna’s Rock for the Cure supports leukemia awareness

Hawaii Independent Staff

A Rock for the Cure benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation will be held Sunday, September 19 at Anna’s. Organized by Robbie Adams, the event seeks to raise funds for the foundation’s Team in Training Program, which prepares runners for distance running events such as marathons and 5K and 10K runs.

Adams will be participating in the Honolulu marathon in December as part of her effort to raise awareness about leukemia research and treatment.

Hawaii native and part-time Austin, Texas resident Tavana McMoore will provide his brand of rock and blues, and Doolin Rake’s Jamie Winpenny will start the evening with Irish rock.

Catering is provided by Anicea Seiko Campanale and Haley Berkey. A raffle will be held, with raffle tickets going for just $2. The suggested donation for Rock for the Cure is $15.
