Record-high yen is a boon for Hawaii tourism

KITV4 News’ Jodi Leong reports that the Japanese yen has hit record highs against the dollar this summer. Good for Hawaii’s tourism economy, bad for Japan’s major exporters. While the yen hit record highs this summer, the Bank of Japan made a move to weaken the yen against the dollar on Wednesday. As a result, the value of the dollar rose 3 percent against the yen.
