The minutes for the Thursday, August 19 Makiki/Punchbowl/Tantalus Neighborhood Board meeting have been made available to the public here. Among those present were State Representatives Sylvia Luke, Della Au Bellati, and Karl Rhodes. Representatives from the Honolulu Mayor’s Office and City Councilmembers Rod Tam and Ann Kobayashi were also on hand.

Honolulu Police Department’s Sgt. Erik Ocholo reported area crime statistics for August. Notable among those statistics were a total of 100 motor vehicle collisions and 28 burglaries. Ocholo made special mention of the rise in burglaries and suggested that residents avoid repeated patterns of behavior, as burglaries are not crimes of opportunity, but rather planned entries.
