Kamehameha Schools’ Clarke Bright nominated for Royal Hawaiian Bandmaster
Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle announced his nomination of Kamehameha Schools band director Clarke Bright for the position of Royal Hawaiian Band bandmaster, KITV4 News reports. Bright has also been director of performing arts for New Hope Christian Fellowship in Honolulu, band director for the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus elementary school, band director for Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate School, orchestra conductor and musical director for the Castle Performing Arts Center and Paliku Theater, and as a percussionist with the 111th Army National Guard Band. He is the oldest son of Hawaii theater education legend Ron Bright.
