Local indie bands to get political at Next Door

Jamie Winpenny

Rock and roll has a long history of political activism in the United States, and that tradition of rockers getting involved continues in Chinatown on Wednesday, October 6 at Next Door. Local indie fixtures Pimpbot, Sex Puppets, Creed Chameleon, Zack Shimizu and blues guitar legend-in-the-making Tavana will perform at Musicians for Abercrombie-Schatz to garner support for the Democratic gubernatorial ticket. If awareness isn’t your thing, there will be $3 drink specials all night.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Women Speaking Out, a non-profit organization that does educational outreach work about dating violence and sexual assault.
