HPD crime mapping shows decrease in Liliha
At the recent Liliha/Puunui/Alewa Heights Neighborhood Board meeting, the Honolulu Police Department presented some encouraging statistics regarding crime in the area. HPD now provides a crime mapping feature on its website that tracks burglaries, thefts, auto thefts, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and graffiti.
HPD reported that the incidence of such crimes in the area have decreased or remained similar to 2009 levels. HPD’s October 2010 response statistics included eight assaults, 17 burglaries, and 71 motor vehicle collisions.
