Hallowbaloo takes over Honolulu for three gouling days of festivities

HONOLULU—The annual Hallowbaloo Music and Arts Festival takes over Honolulu this weekend, with a wide variety of entertainers, artists, and restaurants involved in three gouling (get it?) days of festivities. Bringing in the best in local and national talent, Hallowbaloo has become one of the premiere block party festivals in the Pacific.

Hallowbaloo 2010 doles out three nights of spirited sounds and masquerade mayhem featuring on stage Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Budos Band, Dengue Fever, and DJ Logic plus over 25 additional acts to boot.

Friday, October 29

Kick-Off Concert featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Budos Band, and The Throwdowns
Venue: The Waterfront at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.
All Ages. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (i.e an 18 year old).

Concert Note: The Budos Band will be playing a full 75+ minute set prior to Edward Sharpe’s taking the stage.

Saturday, October 30

Hallowbaloo Street Festival on Nuuanu Avenue
From 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Hawaii’s Largest Live Music Showcase features five outdoor stages and 10,000+ costumed crazies.
Mechanical bull rides on the corner of Hotel Street and Smith Street.

Shows include Dengue Fever (8:30 p.m.—Loloweeny Stage) and The Budos Band (7:00 p.m.—Loloweeny Stage). Also performing throughout the night are Ooklah the Moc, Kings of Spade, Painted Highways, Soul Revival Sound System, Tavana, DJ Eskae, Mano Kane, DJ Mr. Nick, Kitty Lee, Hollow Spheres, Narwhal, Falcon Lord, Shopping List, Circuit Creature, Shakti Dance Movement, Giinko Maraschino, Cherry Blossom Cabaret, and more.

Free people watching action throughout Kalakaua Avenue from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Expect nearly 15,000 costumed partygoers to turn a stroll down the coconut-palm-lined streets into a fabulous spectator sport.
