Jamie Winpenny

The Friends of Saint Patrick will be hosting a visit by Gerry Staunton, the Consul General of Ireland to the Western United States on Wednesday, January 12 at the Celtic room of O’Toole’s Irish Pub on Nuuanu Avenue. The organization has invited all of Hawaii’s Irish, Irish-Americans, and friends to the event, which begins at 6:00 p.m.

The Ceade Mille Failte Reception will feature hosted pupus and soft drinks, and will be followed by a performance by Honolulu’s own Irish/Celtic rock band Doolin Rakes.

Gerry Staunton has been a member of the Irish Foreign Service for nearly 30 years. Based out of San Francisco, the Irish Consul’s office provides assistance to Irish citizens in the western United States, and to U.S. citizens seeking Irish or dual citizenship, passports, and other services. The Consul is a primary source for those seeking information on the cultural and economic links between Ireland and the United States.
