Oahu makes New York Times list of places to see in 2011

Oahu ranked 13th in a recent New York Times article on the top 41 places to visit in 2011.

Among those places that made the list were exotic locales like Tlemcen, Algeria, and Hyderabad, India. Mainstream cities included London, England; Melbourne, Australia; and Antwerp, Belgium.

The New York Times mentions the under-construction, 21-acre Aulani Resort at Ko Olina by Disney and Marriott’s new boutique hotel the Waikiki Edition.

Also noted is the new, $56 million visitor center at Pearl Harbor.
