Iowa’s ‘homeless’ worry about winter with shelters already full
We have to be thankful that Hawaii is blessed with warm weather yearlong. In other parts of the country, winter can complicate addressing the “homeless” situation or even lead to disaster for hundreds without shelter.
Homeless advocates in Des Moines, Iowa said Monday they want to know what the city plans to do this winter with more people being homeless due to the economy. The Des Moines City Council has been asked to develop a plan now before winter weather hits.
“What’s coming is scary. Nobody is fit to be out here this winter,” George Adams, a “homeless” man in Iowa told a local TV news station.
