Healthy yards, clean streams workshop teaches responsible yard and garden care

HONOLULU—Honolulu’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is conducting a healthy yards, clean streams workshop for homeowners on Saturday, January 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hui Ku Maoli Ola nursery in Kaneohe.

The four-hour workshop is free and sponsored by ENV and Hui Ku Maoli Ola, in partnership with the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) Cooperative Extension Service, GeoTech Solutions, and Exacta Sales.

Participants will learn how to reduce chemical and nutrient runoff by practicing responsible yard and garden care.
