Hawaii offers food stamps to more working families

A Hawaii family of four earning up to $50,700 a year would be eligible for food stamps under an expansion of the program. By opening food stamps to more working families, about 22,000 additional residents will be able to take advantage of the government program starting October 1, said Lillian Koller, director for the Hawaii Department of Human Services.
