Former Hawaii Chief Justice William S. Richardson passes
Former Hawaii Chief Justice William S. Richardson passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, June 21. Richardson served as chief justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court from 1966 to 1982, Hawaii lieutenant governor under John Burns from 1962 to 1966, and is the namesake for the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law.
A memorial is scheduled for Friday, July 9 at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, 229 Queen Emma Square. Respects take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorial service takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Private burial to follow.
