Council Committee on Executive Matters likely to refuse Council salary hike

HONOLULU—The Honolulu City Council Committee on Executive Matters and Legal Affairs will convene on Monday, March 28 at Honolulu Hale to discuss Council Bill 10, which relates to the Honolulu Ethics Commission, and Resolution 11-71, which opposes salary increases for City Council members. The resolution specifically cites a shortfall in City revenues as the reason for rejecting a salary increase for Council members.

The Council will also meet in executive session to discuss several matters of litigation involving settling lawsuits against the City, as well as potential litigation involving trust companies regarding a mortgage loan held by the City for Kulana Nani Apartments.
