Come celebrate – and protect – the ocean
Learn about current efforts to protect ocean resources this weekend
KAHEA: The Hawaiian-Environmental Alliance is hosting a celebration of World Ocean’s Day at Wai‘anae District Park on Saturday, June 14, from 2:30 to 9:30 pm.
The event, titled “Kūkahi no Kanaloa,” will feature spoken word and musical performances by Jon and Duncan Osorio, Danny Carvalho and Kupa’aina.
The name of the event is a reference to Ma‘ilikukahi, a celebrated chief of O‘ahu.
Kupuna from the Wai‘anae coast will lead a discussion on current issues, and the film “Hawaiian: The Eddie Aikau Story” will be shown.
