College football: The WAC weak? Really?

Boxscore News’ Kevin Smith points out that the first three weeks of college football this season puts the often overlooked Western Athletic Conference (WAC) above two other “BCS conferences”—the Atlantic Coast and Big East in the Associated Press Conference Computer rankings. Despite what looks to be a great season for the WAC, the loss of Boise State next year (and later Fresno State and Nevada) will hurt. But it might earn Hawaii some championship banners if the Warriors stay and dominate.
