Civil unions bill passes Senate Committee

HONOLULU—The Senate Committee on Judiciary and Labor approved Senate Bill 232 “Relating to Civil Unions”  today by a vote of 3 yays to 2 nays. Sen. Clayton Hee (D), Sen. Maile Shimabukuro (D), and Sen. Les Ihara (D) voted in favor of the bill. Sen. Sam Slom (R) and Sen. Mike Gabbard (D) voted against the measure.
