Chef Kusuma Cooray offers free fusion cooking demonstration at Kaimuki Library

Kusuma Cooray will be conducting a free cooking demonstration at Kaimuki Public Library on Sunday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m.  A native of Sri Lanka, Chef Cooray is the author of Burst of Flavor: The Fine Art of Cooking with Spices and a pioneer in the blending of eastern spices with western ingredients to create flavorful and aromatic dishes. Cooray was trained in London and Paris and was chef to heiress Doris Duke. Formerly the award-winning executive chef at The Willows, she is currently a professor at Kapiolani Community College’s Culinary Institute of The Pacific.
