August 1: Rally to support Hakipuu Learning Center

UPDATE: A court hearing pertaining to the eviction of the Hakipuu Learning Center happens Friday, July 30 at 3:00 p.m. in District Court Building, 1111 Alakea St., Court Room 5-C. The court is located on the corner of Alakea Street and Hotel Street. Judge Rom Trader is hearing the case.

Hakipuu Learning Center (HLC), a charter school based in Windward Community College’s campus, is facing eviction from its building on July 31.

A rally is being held to support HLC’s instructors and students on Sunday, August 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 45-720 Keaahala Road. There will be informational presentations, student talent, and musical entertainment.

The rally’s aim is to stop the eviction and secure a long-term facility for the school’s new campus.
