KAUPA seeks donations for public art mural

The Kalihi Ahupuaa Ulu Pono Ahahui, or KAUPA, is seeking donations to go toward the design and materials for a piece of public art at Kalihi Waena Elementary. KAUPA is planning to create a large wall mural, the content of which will be discussed at a series of meeting for public input.

Funding and grants for nonprofit community organizations like KAUPA have become scarce in recent years, and KAUPA hopes that support from the public will allow them to paint the Kalihi Waena mural and to continue to provide educational outreach for the stewardship of the Kalihi Stream watershed at Kalihi Waena Elementary and Kamehameha Schools.
