$843,700 project brings basketball courts to Waianae’s Kaupuni Neighborhood Park

WAIANAE—Kaupuni Neighborhood Park in Waianae will soon have new basketball courts and other improvements included in a $843,700 project that began last week.

The park, at 85-1280 Kaneaki Street, currently includes two grass fields, a play apparatus, and comfort station. The new project will add two lighted basketball courts, landscaping, concrete stairs with a railing, and a masonry retaining wall with an eight-foot-high chain link fence.

Site work began last week. The project contractor is Henry’s Equipment Rental and Sales, Inc. The project is expected to be completed within 210 calendar days.
