2010 Hawaii State Farm Fair happening now at Bishop Museum
The 2010 Hawaii State Farm Fair is happening at the Bishop Museum on Saturday, July 24 from 9:00 a. m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children (4-12 years of age), and includes entry into all museum attractions. For Hawaii Farm Bureau and Bishop Museum Members admission is free. Parking is also free at Honolulu Community College. Ride the free shuttle and enter to win a trip for 2 to Las Vegas courtesy of Vacations Hawaii.
Attractions include: 4-H Livestock Exhibit, featuring a livestock show and auction; Farmers Insurance of Hawaii Farmers’ Market, featuring fresh, local produce, Hawaii-grown, Hawaii-made products such as jams ‘n jellies, fresh-baked breads, and specialty items you won’t find anywhere else; Huge Plant Sale with orchids, indoor/outdoor plants, native species, and the Plant Doctor; Ag-Tastic Expo with exhibits and the Ag Challenge; a corn husking and watermelon eating contest; kiddie rides; and live entertainment.
Feast on fabulous food like Andouille sausages, burgers, taro mochi, assorted lumpia, and beignets. Fabulous specialty plates include: teri beef, beef stew, hamburger steak, meatloaf, chop steak, kalua pig, garlic shrimp, Hawaiian plate, chili ‘n rice, chowder, fresh roasted corn, and Egyptian/Mediterranean spiced chicken, lamb, and gyros.
