Diamond Head Theatre blasts off with a Shooting Stars Christmas

Barb Forsyth

For two nights only, the Diamond Head Theatre (DHT) will present The Stars Come Out for Christmas, featuring a variety of musical and dance numbers and surprise guest performers, to benefit DHT’s “Shooting Stars” program.

Under the direction of award-winning artistic director John Rampage and staff, DHT’s Shooting Stars feature some of Hawaii’s most talented performers, ages 7 to 17.

The Shooting Stars have entertained audiences for over 10 years with an extensive repertoire of show tunes and choreography. They have performed in New York’s City Center, and locally at Washington Place, Hilton Hawaiian Village, in Jim Nabors’ Christmas show, at The Honolulu Advertiser‘s ‘Ilima Awards, and with the Honolulu Symphony. The Shooting Stars have also staged their own productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Damn Yankees, 42nd Street, Cinderella, Hello, Dolly!, and Into the Woods.

The Shooting Stars’ Christmas show dates are December 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. All proceeds will go toward the DHT Shooting Stars Spring ‘11 New York City Tour.

Come early, as the theatre elves will be hard at work in their Cookies and Cocoa shop!
