Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner

Born in the Republic of the Marshall Islands and raised in Hawaii, Kathy has performed globally with 350 Pacific, London’s Southbank Center, Poetry Parnassus, Youthspeaks Hawaii, UC Berekeley’s Poetry for the People, Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation and the Pacific Islander collective One Love Oceania. She has reported for the Marshall Islands Journal, the Campanil, and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community. She graduated from Mills College, worked at the College of the Marshall Islands, and is now currently a graduate student at University of Hawaii at Manoa.
