Joan Conrow has nearly 30 years’ experience as a print journalist. She previously reported for Reuters and The Honolulu Advertiser, and was the Kauai bureau chief for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. She writes frequently about Hawaii’s unique culture and environment, as well as political and other issues. Her award-winning articles have appeared in numerous national and regional publications, and she writes a nearly daily blog entitled Kauai Eclectic. Joan has resided on Kauai since 1987, where she enjoys hiking, swimming in the ocean, sewing feather lei and spending time with her poi dog, Koko.
