Jade Eckardt is a writer, traveler, surfer, vegetarian, beer lover and a big fan of mullets (the hairstyle not the fish). Raised on the east side of the Big Island, Jade has been living on the North Shore of Oahu for two years. A self described homebody, she is now exploring and learning about the North Shore and Central communities as editor of these areas. Although she was an anthropology major at U.H. Hilo, she took a newswriting class because she heard it was an easy writing intensive course, and there she realized she loved to write. She is now learning to type one handed when she needs to while holding her newborn son Kaulualoha.
